Thomas G. Pullen, Jr. (1898-1979) was an alumnus of William & Mary. He graduated in 1917. He was married to Louise Rowe Pullen. Pullen served as superintendent of Public Education in Maryland, from 1942 to 1964, and as president of the University of Baltimore, from 1964 to 1969. He was in charge of Maryland's public education system during its desegregation. He apparently served in the friaries in World War I.
He and his wife were collectors with books and manuscripts they collected now part of the collection of the Special Collections Research Center in Swem Library. Portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Pullen hang in the Warren E. Burger Conference Room in the Special Collections Research Center.
